The WarHorses

Jeb

Jeb is a 10-year-old Tennessee walking horse who arrived at WarHorses for Heroes and Oak View Stables after acting as a trail riding horse and backyard companion for an elderly gentleman. His calm and stable nature is perfect for providing beginner riders new confidence.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a 16-year-old American Quarter/Paint Horse cross. Just like her mother Sky, her expressive face tells us exactly what she is thinking and often leaves the veterans with a good chuckle.

Otis

Otis is a red-roan paint horse whose calm demeanor and trustworthy nature puts our newer participants at ease. If he isn’t helping a veteran, he can be found peacefully grazing in his pasture, diligently waiting for his next job.

Thor

Gentle giant Thor is a Clydesdale cross who began his training as an Amish plow horse, but now his calm but mischievous personality builds confidence and entertains our veterans. Whether he is knocking things over at our picnic table or quietly enjoying some ear scratches, Thor loves his job. During the veterans' riding sessions, he makes his preceding draft Warhorses, Rebel and Barney, proud.

Sunny

Sunny is one of three horses donated and sponsored for WarHorses for Heroes in 2021. Her gentleman owner kindly provided a home and perpetual care for the former trail mounts, as well as supporting the cause of providing free therapy sessions for all veterans. She is in her late 20's and loves cold baths on the hot summer days.
