Our WarHorses are truly a special breed. Like our Heroes, they go above and beyond the call of duty to serve those who have served. Their docile nature and therapeutic abilities earn them a place in the hearts of our staff and veterans.
Casey is a teenage Appaloosa that has spent countless hours teaching small children how to ride. He has a small frame but a huge personality. His slow, smooth stride makes him a star with the veterans.
Jeb is a 10 year old Tennessee walking horse who arrived at WarHorses for Heroes and Oak View Stables after acting as a trail riding horse and backyard companion for an elderly gentlemen. His calm and stable nature is perfect for providing beginner riders new confidence.
Barney is a middle-aged draft horse and our local "gentle giant". At over 17 hands, he is the largest of the bunch. Don't be fooled by his size because Barney is a big teddy bear on the inside. He is happy whether he's pulling a carriage, riding side saddle, or hanging with the veterans.
Max’s and his mom are both volunteers for WarHorses. He is a 17 year old palomino Quarter Horse. After 7 years of barrel racing, Max’s calm manner and western pleasure gait quickly earned him the title of a WarHorse.
